Do you call yourself a responsible tourist? Does traveling mean more to you than just getting to know another tourist attraction? Do you think it is important to give something back in return for the experience you have had? This is your opportunity to make a difference. Enjoy your visit to Peru with Inca Tourism and at the same time you will be contributing to the development of communities and local Peruvian families that are improving their economic situation with an income from tourism. It is a small step that will make your adventure in Peru even more intense and interesting.
Peru has so much more to offer than beautiful landscapes in the Andes, the Amazone forest or its coastline. Peru is more than all these awesome Inca and Pre-Inca archeological remains or its exquisite traditional food. Its ancestral traditions and habits are rooted in respect for nature and harmonious coexistence with our surroundings. This is the only way of life that guarantees the sustainability of human activity in time.
Inca Tourism invites you to join us in our effort to integrate these traditions in the development of sustainable tourism in Peru, by choosing for companies that share this vision and contribute to the development of the communities where they are operating, that care for the environment, and respect the traditions and customs of the local population and provide an excellent service to tourists.
Peru is one of the few mega diverse countries on this planet, and many of its tourist attractions, like Machu Picchu, Chavín, Chan Chan or the Manu Reserve have been recognized as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. All the more reason, don´t you think, for Peruvians and visitors to treat them with due respect and responsibility.
Travel with Inca Tourism
In Inca Tourism we are proud to be a part of Peru, and recognize the importance of working together to protect our environment, native species, ancestral traditions and the development of Peruvian rural communities. Therefore our approach to tourist destinations is based on sustainability, and the companies we work with are promoting or taking steps towards a more responsible tourism. We work with companies who are concerned with implementing actions towards social responsibility, environmental preservation, and the inclusion of local communities.
Our effort is only possible thanks to the project "Destinations of Peru", an initiative supported by the State Secretary of Economic Affairs of Switzerland – Seco, within the mark of an agreement with MINCETUR and PROMPERU, executed by Swisscontact. The owners of this website, the Destination Management Organizations involved in this project, are making great efforts to develop sustainable tourism in Peru, but also depend on you, the visitors to our country, who are conscious of the impact they can have by choosing for responsible companies.
